Eric Michael Martin

Eric stopped by my studio last month for a new head shot. He's a Clinton High School graduate and has music degrees from Simpson College and the University of Oklahoma - well, read all about him on his website, and you'll see how unbelievably talented he is!

Anyway, as you can see from his head shots, he's also pretty easy on the eyes. ; ) Not only is he a great composer, but he also has a fantastic voice, so of course I made him sing me a song! Thanks, Eric, for making my day!

How could these NOT make you smile???

Okay, I have to admit these girls are easy to photograph. They were so much fun, but the little sister... she never stops moving! The mom's very happy with the results here - thanks for coming to Dear Charlie Photography.

The Incredible Egg

This is a photograph of the egg I photographed in my lighting class several weeks ago. We had assignments to photograph the egg in various lighting conditions. Here the egg is actually sitting on top of an A/C unit. It was a Carrier. ; )

Samantha came in for her senior pictures and we had a blast! She brought her sister and lots of cute clothes. At the end we tested out my new "fantasy set" and she looked just gorgeous!

Taylor

Today Taylor came to my studio from Clinton High School. She is in the "Learning Through Experience" program and will visit me several times this spring. We photographed a puppet, my dog, Charlie, and of course, Taylor! I think she's the prettiest of the three...

Photography Camp

Last week I went to a week-long "photography camp" in Northern Wisconsin. I like to think of it as summer camp for adults (except it wasn't summer and it snowed!) We slept in bunk beds (not near as fun as an adult, btw) and we ate in a cafeteria (I actually appreciate this MORE as an adult. Who am I to complain about food that someone thought of, purchased, prepared and served?) And we totally immersed ourselves in photography. It was so fun! I learned lots and made some wonderful new friends. It doesn't get any better than that!

Above right is an image we created used a "painting with light" technique.
Above left is an image of the class assistant. We used an egg to "see the light."

Those organized souls of the world are ordering their invites already. Go Tori! We sat down and designed it together, I thought it turned out cute!
